Soccer Recap: Lincoln-Way East Comes Up Short

Lincoln-Way East was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were a single goal away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Thornton Wildcats. If Lincoln-Way East were looking for revenge after losing 3-2 to Thornton when the teams met back in August of 2023, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Lincoln-Way East now has a losing record of 5-6. As for Thornton, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a massive bump to their 5-5-1 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lincoln-Way East will venture away from home to square off against Chicago University at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Thornton, they will head out to challenge Kankakee at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
