The Biglerville Canners will take on the Middletown Blue Raiders at 4:15 p.m. on Friday. Biglerville is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 11.6 runs per game this season.

Biglerville is probably headed into the match with a chip on their shoulder considering Susquehannock just ended the team's seven-game winning streak on Thursday. They lost 11-0 to the Warriors. The Canners were red-hot at the plate heading into the contest (they scored no less than ten runs in the four games prior), but the Warriors' pitcher proved too tough.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Middletown). They were the clear victors by a 28-1 margin over Susquehanna Township on Thursday. The win continues a trend for the Blue Raiders in their matchups with the HANNA: they've now won six in a row.

Journee Stover was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Maci Shutt was another key player, going 3-for-4 with three runs and three RBI.

Middletown was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .795. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .382 or higher in five consecutive matchups.

Biglerville's defeat dropped their record down to 14-5. As for Middletown, their victory bumped their record up to 10-5.

Friday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Biglerville hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .400. However, it's not like Middletown struggles in that department as they've averaged .464. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
