Baseball Recap: Bruce Comes Up Short

The matchup between Bruce and Choctaw County on Tuesday hardly resembled the 2-1 effort from their previous meeting. The Bruce Trojans came up short against the Choctaw County Chargers, falling 14-7. The Trojans just can't catch a break and have now endured five defeats in a row dating back to last season.

Bruce saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Sutton Gore, who went 2-for-4 with one home run and two runs. That's the most runs Gore has posted since back in March of 2024. Jonathan Plunk was another, going 2-for-4 with two doubles and one RBI.

Bruce's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Choctaw County, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bruce will square off against Choctaw County at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Choctaw County, they will challenge Noxapater at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
