Softball Recap: Triton Comes Up Short

Triton had lost 20 straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Saturday they dropped their record down to 1-20 to make it 21. They lost 17-5 to the Warsaw Tigers. The Trojans were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Tigers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in May of 2022.

As for Warsaw, with the win, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 8-12. The game marked their most dominant victory of the season.

For Warsaw's part, Adelynn Williams was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. Those three RBI gave Williams a new career-high. Raegan Robinson was another key player, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with three stolen bases, three runs, and one double.

Triton will be staying on the road on Saturday to face off against Manchester at 11:00 a.m. The last three games the Squires have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Warsaw, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Homestead at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday. The Tigers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Spartans have averaged an impressive 6.7 runs per game this season.
