Baseball Recap: Fayette County Drops Season-High Score on Hamilton

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Fayette County). They put the hurt on the Hamilton Aggies with a sharp 16-3 win on Tuesday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Tigers considering their two-run performance the contest before.

Lukas Driver was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He tossed six innings while giving up three earned runs off six hits. Driver was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring four runs while going 3-for-4. Those three hits gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Brayden Unger, who went 3-for-6 with one home run, five RBI, and three runs. Those five RBI gave him a new career-high. Kason Rushing was another key player, scoring a run while going 3-for-5.

Fayette County moved to 9-16 with that victory, which also ended their five-game losing streak. As for Hamilton, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 12-14.

Fayette County will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Aggies: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
