Softball Recap: Danville Ironmen vs. Hughesville Spartans

Danville won against North Schuylkill last Thursday with eight runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Monday. The Danville Ironmen walked away with an 8-5 victory over the Hughesville Spartans. The win made it back-to-back victories for Danville.

Camryn Hess made a splash while hitting and pitching. She pitched seven innings while giving up just one earned (and four unearned) runs off eight hits. Hess has been consistent recently: she hasn't pitched less than five innings in four consecutive pitching appearances. Hess was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 3-for-4.

Hess wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Maclin Hickey, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI. As for Hughesville, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Central Columbia at 4:30 p.m. Hughesville is facing Central Columbia at the right time seeing as Central Columbia is stuck on a five-game losing streak.
