Baseball Recap: Foothill Drops Highest Score of Season Against Livermore

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Foothill). They were the clear victors by a 22-1 margin over the Livermore Cowboys on Wednesday. The Falcons might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 games by seven runs or more this season.

Jack Fowler was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out seven over five innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in April of 2024. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Austin Rost was a standout: he went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Landon Comerford, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two doubles, and one run.

Foothill always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .558. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Livermore only posted an OBP of .290.

Foothill has been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-5 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.9 runs over those games. As for Livermore, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 12-9.

Foothill will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Cowboys: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
