Basketball Recap: Chapman's Win Ends Three-Game Losing Streak on the Road

Chapman won the last time they faced Spartanburg Christian Academy, and Hawken Smith did his part to make sure it happened again. The Chapman Panthers walked away with a 50-42 win over the Spartanburg Christian Academy Warriors on Monday thanks in part to Smith, who posted 18 points and five assists. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in points.

Another player making a difference was Josiah Moore, who had five rebounds and three steals. He is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last three games he's played.

Chapman's victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-10. As for Spartanburg Christian Academy, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last eight contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-12 record this season.

Chapman will welcome Greer Middle College at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Spartanburg Christian Academy, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 71-30 win against Oakbrook Prep on the 7th.
