Basketball Recap: University Extends Home Winning Streak to 19

University is still undefeated this season after their contest against Highland on Wednesday, but Highland came as close as anyone has to beating them. The University Bulldogs skirted past the Highland Huskies 58-56. The defensive woes were uncharacteristic for the Bulldogs, who until this match were averaging 28.64 points allowed.

Addison Harding was her usual excellent self, almost dropping a double-double with 18 points and nine rebounds. She is also on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as she's posted one of at least 55% in the last six games she's played. Another player making a difference was Janay Kravig, who posted 11 points and four steals.

When it comes to explaining why Highland lost, don't look at Briza Flores. Despite the final result, she shot 55% from beyond the arc on her way to 33 points. Those 33 points gave Flores a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Vivianne Chase, who had six points and eight boards.

University pushed their record up to 22-0 with the victory, which was their 19th straight at home dating back to last season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 30.1 points. As for Highland, the defeat snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 15-7 record.
