Baseball Game Preview: Creston Panthers vs. Denison-Schleswig Monarchs

The Creston Panthers are taking a road trip to take on the Denison-Schleswig Monarchs at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Denison-Schleswig took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Creston, who comes in off a win.

While Creston's win against Glenwood wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Panthers narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Rams 4-3. The Panthers haven't had any issues with the Rams recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Meanwhile, Denison-Schleswig didn't have quite enough to beat Sergeant Bluff-Luton on Friday and fell 5-4. The loss continues a trend for the Monarchs in their meetings with the Warriors: they've now lost three in a row.

Creston's victory bumped their record up to 6-7. As for Denison-Schleswig, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-3.

Everything went Creston's way against Denison-Schleswig in their previous meeting back in July of 2024, as Creston made off with a 10-4 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Panthers since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
