Recap: Tempe Buffaloes vs. Coronado Dons
The Tempe Buffaloes's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fifth straight loss. They fell just short of Coronado by a score of 64-61. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Tempe in their matchups with Coronado: they've now lost three in a row.
Several Buffaloes players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Nassir Cobbs, who scored 20 points along with three steals. Alejandro Irizarry-Navarro was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with four steals.
Tempe's defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 7-14. That rough patch can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.8 points per game. As for Coronado, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 9-8.
Tempe will be playing at home against Vista Grande at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Coronado, they will head out on the road to challenge Dysart at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Dysart has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 1,077 points over their last 15 matches.
