Football Game Preview: Winters Blizzards vs. Hamlin Pied Pipers + How To Watch

Winters hasn't had much luck against Hamlin recently, but that could start to change on Friday. After each having a week off, the two teams will shake off the cobwebs and hit the field against one another at 7:00 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Winters took a loss when they played away from home back in September, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed last Friday. Their defense stepped up to hand Texas Leadership Charter Academy - Abilene a 59-0 shutout. The Blizzards' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Mark Moreno had a dynamite game, rushing for 100 yards and a pair of scores on only five carries, while also picking up 63 receiving yards and one touchdown. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in rushing touchdowns (two). Another player making a difference was Coy Martinez, who threw for 100 yards and two TDs.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Winters was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 274 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, Hamlin waltzed into their contest last Friday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They claimed a resounding 36-6 victory over the Indians.

Winters' record is now 2-3. As for Hamlin, their record now sits at 4-1.

Winters was dealt a bruising 27-0 defeat at the hands of Hamlin in their previous meeting back in October of 2024. Can the Blizzards avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
