Softball Recap: Western Reserve Takes a Loss

Western Reserve is still winless after their game against Port Clinton on Saturday, but the team can take solace in the fact it was the closest they've come to winning. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 4-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Redskins. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Roughriders of the 18-11 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in March of 2021.

Western Reserve saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Zoey Rhodes, who went 1-for-3 with one run. That hit marked the first that Rhodes has got this season.

Western Reserve's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Port Clinton, their record is now 7-4.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Redskins beat Western Reserve by a score of 7-6 later that day.
