Softball Recap: Childress Triumphs

Childress posted their closest win since February 27, 2024 on Saturday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 5-3 victory over the Canyon Eagles.

Ansley Parr spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on four hits and racked up 16 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Childress saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kaylee Felton, who scored a run while going 1-for-3. Addi Baize was another, scoring two runs and stealing a base.

The win got Childress back to even at 4-4. As for Canyon, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-2-1.

Coming up, a feisty cat fight will be fought as the Bobcats take on the Tigers at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Canyon, they have already played their next match, a 5-2 victory against Americas on the 22nd.
