Basketball Recap: Rochelle Wins Going Away Against UIC College Prep

Rochelle saw some tournament action on Saturday. Everything went their way against the UIC College Prep Firecats as the Rochelle Hubs made off with an 80-59 victory.

UIC College Prep's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Marcus Moore, who went 8 of 18 on his way to 18 points and five rebounds. The dominant performance gave Moore a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was Andre Boone Jr, who went 7 for 13 en route to 14 points.

Rochelle's win bumped their record up to 6-12. As for UIC College Prep, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 13-8.

Rochelle will square off against Johnsburg at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. Rochelle knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past 11 contests -- so hopefully Johnsburg likes a good challenge. As for UIC College Prep, they will take on Baker at 5:30 p.m. on January 27th.
