Football Game Preview: Johnston City Indians vs. Wesclin Warriors + How To Watch

The Johnston City Indians will square off against the Wesclin Warriors at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with Johnston City sitting on nine straight victories and Wesclin on four.

On Friday, Johnston City strolled past Sesser-Valier/Waltonville with points to spare, taking the game 36-18. The Indians pushed the score to 28-6 by the end of the third, a deficit the Red Devils cut but never quite recovered from.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Wesclin). They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat Madison 70-32. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 36-16.

Wesclin's win came from a few key players Johnston City will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Cael Madden, who rushed for 230 yards and six scores on only 14 carries. Those six rushing touchdowns gave him a new career-high. William Waggoner was another key player, rushing for 227 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only 14 carries.

Wesclin was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 516 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.

Special teams was a major factor in the game for Wesclin, racking up 16 points in total. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Madden, who ran a kickoff back for a touchdown.

Wesclin now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Johnston City, their win bumped their record up to 9-0.
