Baseball Preview: Crooksville Ceramics vs. Tri-Valley Scotties
Crooksville is 2-8 against Tri-Valley since April of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Ceramics will host the Scotties at 5:00 p.m. The last three games Crooksville has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
On Wednesday, Crooksville needed a bit of extra time to put away Morgan. They beat the Raiders by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 6-4. Surprisingly, this marked the Ceramics' fifth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor.
Meanwhile, Tri-Valley never let their opponents score on Monday. They were the clear victors by a 7-0 margin over Meadowbrook. Considering the Scotties have won 14 matchups by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.
Tri-Valley got a great performance from Draven Spinks as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over five innings pitched.
On the hitting side, Brady Kaufman was excellent, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.
Tri-Valley's win was their ninth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 19-4. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.8 runs over those games. As for Crooksville, their win bumped their record up to 7-11.
