Basketball Game Preview: Lutheran South Academy Pioneers vs. St. Pius X Panthers

The Lutheran South Academy Pioneers are taking a road trip to challenge the St. Pius X Panthers at 12:00 p.m. on Monday. Lutheran South Academy is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak.

Lutheran South Academy is headed into the game out to prove that what happened against Cooper on Wednesday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. The Pioneers came up short against the Dragons, falling 68-48. The Pioneers were down 57-36 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

The home team had won the previous three meetings between St. Pius X and Second Baptist, and Second Baptist kept the tradition alive. The Panthers took a hard 49-34 fall against the Eagles on Tuesday.

St. Pius X's loss dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Lutheran South Academy, they now have a losing record of 2-3.

Lutheran South Academy ended up a good deal behind St. Pius X when the teams last played back in November of 2024, losing 50-31. Can the Pioneers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
