            Softball Recap: Odyssey Institute Minotaur vs. Northwest Christian Crusaders        
        
		
        
        
            Odyssey Institute had lost 19 straight at home dating back to last season, but  on Friday they dropped their record down to 3-16 to make it 20. They came up short against  the Northwest Christian Crusaders, falling  18-7. The Minotaur were not able to make up for their  defeat to the Crusaders from their previous meeting  back in April of 2024.
As for Northwest Christian, they are  on a roll lately: they've  won nine of their last ten games. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-5 record  this season. The result was nothing new for Northwest Christian, who have now won 13 matches by nine  runs or more  so far this season.
 For Northwest Christian's part,  Kendalyn Cook was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with four  RBI and two  runs. That's the most  RBI  Cook has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of  Kinsey Unger, who  went 2-for-3 with three  runs, one  triple,  and one  stolen base.
 Both  teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Odyssey Institute will venture away from home to  challenge Parker  at 11:00  a.m.  on Saturday. The Minotaur will need to watch out since the Broncs have now posted at least ten  runs  in their last four contests. As for Northwest Christian, they will take on San Tan Foothills at 3:45  p.m.  on Monday. The Sabercats have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 17.55  runs per game on average), something the Crusaders will no doubt try to take advantage of.
