Baseball Game Preview: Madison Mohawks vs. Brookville Blue Devils

The Madison Mohawks will head out on the road to square off against the Brookville Blue Devils at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams are strolling into their games after big wins in their previous games.

Madison's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. Everything went their way against New Miami as they made off with a 14-0 win. That 14-run margin sets a new team best for the Mohawks this season.

Carson Creesong tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run while striking out six over five innings pitched. Those six strikeouts gave him a new career-high.

On the hitting side, Jakoby Riley was incredible, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. Those two runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Brody Coulter, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and one stolen base.

Madison always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .606. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive matchups.

Brookville came out on top against Madison on Monday thanks in part to the team's impressive seven-run fifth inning. The Blue Devils put the hurt on the Mohawks with a sharp 11-1 victory. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Blue Devils as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Madison's victory bumped their record up to 10-4. As for Brookville, their win bumped their record up to 5-6.

Madison might still be hurting after the 11-1 defeat they got from Brookville in their previous meeting on Monday. Can the Mohawks avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
