Volleyball Recap: Huron Beats Willard for Their Fifth Straight Victory

Huron had already won four in a row and they went ahead and made it five on Thursday. They came within a single set of losing the streak, but they secured a 3-2 W against the Willard Crimson Flashes. This was payback for the Tigers, who suffered a 3-0 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Huron got the W, but it wasn't easy, at least in the third set. The final score came out to 25-17, 15-25, 28-30, 25-14, 15-9.

Mya Smith paced Huron's offense, picking up 15 kills. Smith got some help from Reece Hotz and her 43 assists. Jenna Cox controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.

Huron's victory bumped their record up to 6-1. As for Willard, their loss ended a seven-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 7-3.

Huron wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 2-0 win against Brunswick on the 6th. As for Willard, they will challenge Hopewell-Loudon at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
