Softball Recap: Desert Sunrise Comes Up Short

After flying high against Coronado on Wednesday, Desert Sunrise came back down to earth. The Golden Hawks took a 13-8 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Yuma Criminals on Thursday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Criminals this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 13-3 back in March.

Atiana Fuller made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. She has been hot recently, having posted two or more stolen bases the last three times she's played. Angelica Tilton was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two runs and two doubles.

Desert Sunrise's loss dropped their record down to 4-13. As for Yuma, their record now sits at 11-7.

Desert Sunrise does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Yuma, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 15-5 win against Cortez on the 25th.
