Washington Leadership Academy and the Washington Latin Public Charter School Lions will face off at 5:30 p.m. on Friday without much rest having both just played. Washington Leadership Academy's offense hasn't had much luck over their past three matches, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

On Thursday, Washington Leadership Academy came up short against DC International and fell 35-24.

Meanwhile, Washington Latin Public Charter School faced Idea in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. Washington Latin Public Charter School was the clear victor by a 37-16 margin over Idea.

Washington Leadership Academy better keep an eye on Victoria Guevara. She was instrumental in Washington Latin Public Charter School's win, putting up 18 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Sarah Schifferle, who posted seven points.

Washington Latin Public Charter School has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 3-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 26.3 points per game. As for Washington Leadership Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 1-4.

Washington Leadership Academy won a game that couldn't have been any closer when the teams last played back in February of 2024, slipping by Washington Latin Public Charter School 1-0.
