Softball Recap: Northview Has No Trouble Against Riverside Prep

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Los Osos, Northview was happy to have turned things around on Saturday. They were the clear victor by a 15-5 margin over the Riverside Prep Silver Knights. With that win, the Vikings brought their scoring average up to 7.6 runs per game.

Northview got a massive performance out of Marilyn Sandoval, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in all five of her plate appearances. Sandoval also put up a double, which washer first of the season. Another player making a difference was Sophia Luna, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI.

Northview kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in April of 2024.

The victory got Northview back to even at 2-2-1. As for Riverside Prep, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-3.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Northview will host Colton at 3:15 p.m. on Monday. Northview is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.6 runs per game this season. As for Riverside Prep, they will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on Los Osos at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday.
