Softball Recap: Northfield Norsemen vs. Oak Hill Golden Eagles

Northfield had lost eight straight at home, but on Friday they dropped their record down to 2-16 to make it nine. They lost 11-0 to the Oak Hill Golden Eagles. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Norsemen of the 16-3 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2024.

At the plate, Speicher went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI, while Wiley went 3-for-4 with two RBI.

In other batting news, Oak Hill let Ry-Ry Myers and Lex Myers run wild. Ry-Ry went 4-for-5 with four runs and two stolen bases, while Lex went 3-for-5 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Those three runs gave Lex a new career-high. Jolee Hawkins was another key player, going 1-for-5 with three RBI and one run.

Coming up, Northfield will head out to challenge Manchester at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday. As for Oak Hill, they will take on Lewis Cass at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
