Basketball Game Preview: Randle Lions vs. Fort Bend Kempner Cougars

A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Randle Lions challenge the Fort Bend Kempner Cougars at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday... The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Randle has four straight wins, Fort Bend Kempner has seven straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

On Friday, Randle was able to grind out a solid victory over Lamar Consolidated, taking the game 34-21. Given the Lions' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 600th, while the Mustangs are ranked 1306th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Fort Bend Kempner lost to Brazoswood on the road by a 45-27 margin on Saturday.

Randle pushed their record up to 11-12 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 50.3 points per game. As for Fort Bend Kempner, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-12.

Everything came up roses for Randle against Fort Bend Kempner in their previous meeting back in January of 2024, as the team secured a 62-21 victory. Will Randle repeat their success, or does Fort Bend Kempner have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
