Basketball Recap: Bellmont Comes Up Short

Bellmont was the 61-41 winner over Leo when they last played one another back in January of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Bellmont Braves were beaten by the Leo Lions 71-30 on Saturday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Braves have suffered against the Lions since January 28, 2017.

Bellmont dropped their record down to 2-13 with the defeat, which was their sixth straight on the road. As for Leo, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bellmont will challenge East Noble at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. East Noble will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Bellmont surely won't give up without a fight. As for Leo, they will square off against DeKalb at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Leo knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past six games -- so hopefully DeKalb likes a good challenge.
