Thursday just wasn't the day for Twin Springs's offense. They fell just short of the Holston Cavaliers by a score of 2-0 on Thursday. The Titans' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Makenzie Gillenwater spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on three hits and racked up 15 Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season.

At the plate, Twin Springs saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Emma Ross, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base.

Twin Springs' loss dropped their record down to 3-2. As for Holston, their victory was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-0.

Looking ahead, Twin Springs will venture away from home to face off against Lee at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Holston, they will welcome Rye Cove at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Cavaliers 1, the Eagles 2) so any runs scored will be well earned.
