Recap: Norfolk Panthers vs. Lincoln Northeast Rockets
The Norfolk Panthers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fourth straight loss. They suffered a tough 73-52 defeat at the hands of Lincoln Northeast. Norfolk was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 39-17.
Several Panthers players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Tasha Eisenhauer, who scored 13 points. Another player making a difference was Russell Aubrey, who scored ten points.
It was another big night for Doneelah Washington, who dropped a double-double on 30 points and 17 rebounds for Lincoln Northeast. Washington is absolutely dominating the rebound category: she's posted at least eight every time she's taken the court this season. Khadijah Phillips was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
Norfolk dropped their record down to 4-11 with that loss, which was their third straight at home. As for Lincoln Northeast, their victory bumped their record up to 13-3.
Norfolk will head out on the road to square off against Grand Island at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Grand Island is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. As for Lincoln Northeast, they will be playing at home against Papillion-LaVista South at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
