Flag Football Game Preview: Righetti Warriors vs. Santa Ynez Pirates

The Righetti Warriors will head out to square off against the Santa Ynez Pirates at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams are strolling into their matchups after big wins in their previous games.

Righetti took a loss when they played away from home two weeks ago, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. They took their contest with ease, bagging a 39-6 win over Cabrillo. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Warriors' offense, which had struggled in the games prior.

Meanwhile, Santa Ynez got themselves on the board against Santa Maria on Thursday, but Santa Maria never followed suit. They blew past the Saints 26-0. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Pirates' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' California flag football rankings (they are ranked 274th, while the Saints are ranked 569th).

Santa Ynez didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Ella Gotschall, Skyla Oslin, and Campbell McClurg picked up one apiece. Gotschall got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Santa Ynez's victory bumped their record up to 6-3. As for Righetti, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-4.
