Baseball Recap: Rocky Mountain's Win on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Rocky Mountain waltzed into their contest on Tuesday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They were the clear victors by a 12-2 margin over the Fort Collins Lambkins. The Lobos might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven matches by six runs or more this season.

Ross Frank made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out ten over five innings pitched. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in seven consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one triple and one RBI. That triple marked the first that he has hit this season.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Riley Honick, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, seven RBI, and one stolen base. Those seven RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Max Abernathy, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Rocky Mountain always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .533. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Fort Collins only posted an OBP of .167.

Rocky Mountain pushed their record up to 13-5 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Fort Collins, their loss dropped their record down to 8-10.

Rocky Mountain will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Lambkins: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
