Baseball Recap: Green County's Undefeated Season over After Four Games

If Green County was riding high fresh off their 15-0 takedown of Caverna on Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Green County fell just short of the Washington County Commanders by a score of 9-8 on Friday. The loss was the Dragons' first of the season.

Andrew Houk made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one home run and four RBI. Houk is crushing it when it comes to RBI: he's brought in at least three every time he's taken the field this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Houston Hodges, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.

Houk wasn't the only one working in the home run department: Green County lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

Having lost for the first time this season, Green County fell to 1-1-2. As for Washington County, the win was their first on the road , bumping their record up to 2-3.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Green County will host Bethlehem at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Washington County, they will look to defend their home field on Monday against East Jessamine at 6:30 p.m.
