Volleyball Recap: Fontana's Run of 15 Straight Wins Now Over

It was a good run, but Fontana unfortunately witnessed the end of their 15-game winning streak on Saturday. They fell 2-0 to the Laguna Beach Breakers. The shutout was out of character for the Steelers seeing as the last time the team failed to score was back in March.

Donavan Bacon paced Fontana's offense, picking up ten kills. Bacon got some help from Luis Gonzalez and his 20 assists. Bacon and Gonzalez didn't slow down when it came to serving: they led the team with two apiece.

Laguna Beach found their leader in sophomore Dylan Sweet, who had nine digs and two assists.

Fontana's defeat dropped their record down to 24-5. As for Laguna Beach, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 8-13.

Fontana wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 2-0 victory against Rancho Verde on the 19th. As for Laguna Beach, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-0 loss against Malibu on the 19th.
