Softball Recap: Plano Triumphs

Plano posted their closest victory since April 19, 2024 on Monday. They won by a run and slipped past the Mendota Trojans 16-15. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Reapers.

The team relied heavily on Lindsey Cocks, who scored four runs and stole four bases while going 3-for-4. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April of 2024. Chloe Rowe also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.

Cocks wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Plano kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Mendota only managed nine hits.

The win got Plano back to even at 3-3. As for Mendota, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1.

Looking ahead, Plano will face off against Genoa-Kingston at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Mendota, they will take on Ashton-Franklin Center at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Mendota is facing Ashton-Franklin Center at the right time seeing as Ashton-Franklin Center is stuck on a five-game losing streak.
