Softball Recap: Woodland Comes Up Short

Woodland fell victim to Gardner-South Wilmington and their airtight pitching crew on Wednesday. They lost 18-0 to the Panthers. The Warriors were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Panthers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in March of 2024.

Woodland dropped their record down to 1-6 with the loss, which was their third straight at home. As for Gardner-South Wilmington, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 6-3.

Coming up, Woodland will venture away from home to square off against St. Bede at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Bruins' pitching crew has only allowed 3.9 runs per game this season, so the Warriors' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Gardner-South Wilmington, they will be playing at home against Momence at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
