Heritage had already won eight in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 27.6 points) and they went ahead and made it nine on Saturday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Cornerstone Christian Cougars 53-0. Given the Patriots' advantage in MaxPreps' California flag football rankings (they are ranked 40th, while the Cougars are ranked 383rd) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Heritage didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Madison Higgins and Grace Luna. Higgins got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Heritage's victory bumped their record up to 10-1. As for Cornerstone Christian, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-2.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Heritage is set to square off against their familiar foe Antioch at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Cornerstone Christian will challenge rival Deer Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
