Basketball Game Preview: Midview Middies vs. North Ridgeville Rangers

The Midview Middies will take on the North Ridgeville Rangers in a holiday battle at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Midview has given up an average of 59.8 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Midview is headed into Friday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight games on Tuesday. They had to suffer through an 84-56 loss at the hands of Berea-Midpark. The Middies were down 64-40 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

Despite their loss, Midview saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Xavier Young, who shot 57% from the field to rack up 27 points and five rebounds, was perhaps the best of all. Luke Jockel was another key player, almost dropping a double-double with nine points and nine boards.

Meanwhile, North Ridgeville faced Elyria in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Rangers took a 72-53 bruising from the Pioneers. The defeat was just more heartbreak for the Rangers, who fell 81-78 when the teams last met back in December of 2024.

Midview's loss dropped their record down to 1-4. As for North Ridgeville, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-2.

Midview was dealt a bruising 93-46 loss at the hands of North Ridgeville in their previous meeting back in February. That matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Middies were down 60-16.
