Jackson Academy lost to Southern Academy back in November, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Thursday. In a tight contest that could have gone either way, the Eagles made off with a 51-50 victory over the Cougars.

Jackson Academy got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Kayden Moore out in front who shot 47% from the field en route to 21 points. That makes it three consecutive games in which Moore has scored at least a third of the Eagles' points. The team also got some help courtesy of Trae Banks, who dropped a double-double with 13 points and 11 boards.

Jackson Academy's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Southern Academy, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-3.

Coming up, Jackson Academy won't have much time to rest: their next game is against South Choctaw Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Southern Academy, they will take on Patrician Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
