Softball Game Preview: Fountain Lake Cobras vs. Mills University Studies Comets

The Fountain Lake Cobras will challenge the Mills University Studies Comets at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Mills University Studies took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Fountain Lake, who comes in off a win.

Having struggled with six losses in a row, Fountain Lake turned things around against Mountain Pine on Tuesday. They blew past the Red Devils 10-2.

Brylee Heath made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. Heath was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-4. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in RBI (two).

In other batting news, Meagan Tillery was a standout: she scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March. Ellie Johnson was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3.

Meanwhile, Tuesday just wasn't the day for Mills University Studies' offense. They came up short against Malvern on Tuesday, falling 21-0. The contest marked the first time this year in which the Comets were not able to get on the board.

Fountain Lake's win bumped their record up to 3-8. As for Mills University Studies, they dropped their record down to 2-4 with the defeat, which was their third straight at home.
