Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Southwestern). They took their match on Monday with ease, bagging a 71-25 win over the Somerset Briar Jumpers. Given the Warriors' advantage in MaxPreps' Kentucky basketball rankings (they are ranked 46th, while the Briar Jumpers are ranked 202nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

It was another big night for Kinsley Molden, who made all 9 shots she took for 20 points. Another player making a difference was Jaelyn Dye, who posted four points in addition to seven assists and three steals.

Southwestern was working as a unit and finished the game with 18 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in December of 2024.

Southwestern is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a massive bump to their 10-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.3 points per game. As for Somerset, their loss was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 3-10.

Southwestern will face off against Highlands at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Somerset, they will challenge Pulaski County at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
