Basketball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Concord + How To Watch

Concord strolled into their game on Friday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They walked away with a 67-57 win over the St. Philip Catholic Central Fighting Tigers. For the Yellowjackets, this counts as revenge for the 65-53 victory the Fighting Tigers walked away with the last time they faced one another back in December of 2024.

Concord had a senior duo take command as Connor Stevens dropped a double-double with 18 points and 21 rebounds and Jett Smith shot 45% from the field on his way to 29 points and eight assists. Smith's evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least 15 points. Zack Stevens was another key player, putting up seven points and five boards.

Concord smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 12 offensive boards every time they've taken the court this season.

Concord's win bumped their record up to 3-0. As for St. Philip Catholic Central, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.

Concord and St. Philip Catholic Central will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. The Yellowjackets will face off against rival Quincy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, St. Philip Catholic Central is set to take on their familiar foe Colon at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
