Softball Recap: University Comes Up Short in High-Profile Game with Morgantown

University faced Morgantown in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Hawks fell 6-3 to the Mohigans. The loss was the Hawks' first of the season.

University saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Sophia Lehosit, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI.

Having lost for the first time this season, University fell to 7-1. As for Morgantown, they pushed their record up to 8-6 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. University will square off against Hurricane at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Hawks 1.5, the Redskins 2.8) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Morgantown, they will face off against Steubenville at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday.
