Basketball Recap: Treve Stoffel Key Part of Team Effort in Indians Win

Mosinee won the last time they faced Lakeland and things went their way on Thursday too. The Mosinee Indians took down the Lakeland Thunderbirds 69-51. Given the Indians' advantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin basketball rankings (they are ranked 93rd, while the Thunderbirds are ranked 292nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Mosinee's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Treve Stoffel, who dropped a double-double with 11 points and ten assists. The dominant performance also gave Stoffel a new career-high in steals (six). Sebastian Andersen was another key player, going 8-for-11 to rack up 18 points and six rebounds.

Mosinee smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 12 offensive boards in five consecutive matches.

Mosinee pushed their record up to 17-7 with the win, which was their third straight at home. As for Lakeland, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-14-1.
