Basketball Recap: Monday's Win Is Willow Spring's Ninth in Last 11 Outings

There's no place like home for Willow Spring, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Saturday. They managed a 54-48 victory over the Southeast Raleigh Bulldogs on Monday. For the Storm, this counts as revenge for the 58-52 win the Bulldogs walked away with the last time they faced one another back in February of 2024.

Willow Spring got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Brandon Brooks out in front who went 5 of 7 to rack up 14 points and eight rebounds. What's more, Brooks also posted a 71% field goal percentage, which is the highest he's posted since back in November of 2024. Xavion Terrell was another key player, going 5 for 8 on his way to 13 points.

Willow Spring is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 11 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 15-7 record this season. As for Southeast Raleigh, their loss dropped their record down to 13-9.

Looking ahead, Willow Spring will take on Clayton at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Southeast Raleigh, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Garner at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Garner knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past 12 games -- so hopefully Southeast Raleigh likes a good challenge.
