Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Aztec). They blew past the Gallup Bengals 10-1 on Thursday. Bryce Martinez was a massive factor in the win as he booted in four goals all by himself.
Jacob Diaz, who's played more minutes than anyone else on the Aztec squad sat out for Thursday's contest. With Diaz sidelined, Alejandro Valerio got his first action of the season. Valerio made the most of the opportunity, scoring a goal and five steals. A few more games like that and he might be seeing even more time going forward.
The win made it two in a row for Aztec and bumps their season record up to 5-15. As for Gallup, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-17.
As of now, neither Aztec nor Gallup have any future games scheduled.
