Volleyball Recap: Stevenson Gets the Win

Stevenson won the last time they faced Wheeling and things went their way on Friday too. The Patriots skirted past the Wildcats 2-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Patriots have posted since October 19, 2024.

It was an exciting match in which no team won back-to-back sets, but at the end of the day Stevenson got the one that really mattered. The match finished with set scores of 25-23, 18-25, 15-12.

Their offense was headlined by Nomin Baterdene and Abigail Inman, who picked up eight kills apiece. They got some help from Ryler Bondad and her 13 assists. Jane Tan controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

The victory made it two in a row for Stevenson and bumps their season record up to 3-1. As for Wheeling, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1.

Stevenson didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 2-1 win against Grayslake Central on the 29th. Wheeling has also already played their next contest (against Evanston), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
