Baseball Recap: Allen Continues Home Dominance on Thursday

Allen can bid farewell to their four-game losing streak thanks to their game on Thursday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Lake Travis Cavaliers a 3-0 shutout.

Not much got past Jose Alvarez, who gave up just four hits and racked up six Ks to keep Lake Travis off the board. The dominant performance gave Alvarez a new career-high in strikeouts.

On the hitting side, Allen saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ayden Austin, who scored a run while going 1-for-3. Another was Kyle Tanksley, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances.

Allen's win was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 2-4.

Coincidentally, Allen and Lake Travis will both be playing Faith Lutheran the next time they take the field. Lake Travis will head out to face Faith Lutheran at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, while Allen will play them later in the day, at 12:30 p.m.
