Northeast Guilford is on a four-game streak of home losses, Atkins a three-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck is about to change. The Northeast Guilford Rams will take on the Atkins Camels at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Northeast Guilford pushed their score all the way to 55 on Wednesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They lost to Southeast Guilford at home by a decisive 73-55 margin.
Northeast Guilford might have lost, but man, Dennis Fountain was a machine: he almost dropped a double-double on 29 points and nine rebounds. Fountain is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 17 or more in the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Isiah Irving, who scored five points along with eight rebounds.
Meanwhile, Atkins had to suffer through a rough 80-44 loss at the hands of Southern Guilford. Atkins was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 47-20.
Northeast Guilford has been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-13 record this season. As for Atkins, their loss dropped their record down to 4-16.
