Baseball Recap: Cleveland Has No Trouble Against Garner

Cleveland hadn't done well against Garner recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Rams put the hurt on the Trojans with a sharp 10-2 victory. Considering the Rams have won ten games by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Caleb Lynn was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out nine batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-5 with two RBI and one run.

In other batting news, Thad Parker and Brooks Moore did most of the damage at the plate: Parker went 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double, while Moore went 1-for-5 with two stolen bases and two runs. That's the most stolen bases Moore has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Alex Hernandez, who went 2-for-4 with one run and one double.

Cleveland was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .406. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .304 or higher in five consecutive contests.

Cleveland's record is now 13-7. As for Garner, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-10 record this season.

Cleveland will have a chance to go back-to-back against Garner: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
