Softball Recap: Devine Takes a Loss

Devine entered their game against Somerset on Tuesday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. Devine took a 7-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of Somerset. The Warhorses were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bulldogs apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Maddie Brown made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with one home run and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Sam Zamora, who went 3-for-4 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI.

Devine's defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 5-1 and their overall record down to 15-4. As for Somerset, the victory got them back to even at 10-10.

Coincidentally, Devine and Somerset will both be playing Pearsall the next time they take the field. Devine will host Pearsall at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, while Somerset will host them at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
